King’s portrait targeted by activists

Must read

The new portrait of the King has been targeted by protesters from the group Animal Rising.

The animal rights organisation said in a statement that it had “redecorated” the portrait, hanging in the Philip Mould gallery on Pall Mall in central London, in protest over the RSPCA Assured Farms scheme.

The activists covered the King’s face with a likeness of the cartoon character Wallace from Wallace and Gromit, which the group said was a reference to the King’s love of the cartoon.

Philip Mould told The Times that the posters were removed within 10 seconds and no damage was done to the portrait.

Animal Rising said the posters were affixed using water sprayed on to the bag of them and that they were easily removable
