Rylan Clark sparks fury from ‘rude’ fans after sharing now-deleted road rage tweet about zebra crossings

Must read

Rylan Clark has branded his followers ‘rude b*****ds’ after sparking debate with a rant about people who don’t thank drivers at zebra crossings.

In the now-deleted tweet, Rylan fumed that he hadn’t been thanked by people he stopped for in his car at the crossing as he publicly aired his road rage.

Rylan was quick to remove the post, which read: ‘I know it’s the law and that pedestrians have right of way at zebra crossings… BUT SAY THANK YOU OR POP UR HAND UP. Rude pr**ks… (Stuck in traffic and annoyed).’

In response to his tweet, one person claimed Rylan was ‘threatening his National Treasure Status’ by posting the anger-fuelled tweet.

According to the Mirror: Furious fans said: ‘Ah, I see Rylan is jeopardising his National Treasure status by having a go at the zebra crossing community. I’m sorry, but this topic isn’t as black & white as you might think’;

‘I love Rylan, but I will take my time at a zebra crossing, and will shout at any driver that doesn’t respect my RIGHT OF WAY’; ‘No hun, this ain’t it’; ‘Just can’t get with you on this one’.

Rylan then deleted the post and followed up with another, which said: ‘Some of your replies are just so 2024. Have a lovely day you rude b*****ds.’

However, some people did agree with Rylan’s original sentiment, and said: : ‘Agree!! And when you let someone out or filter in traffic and they don’t say thank you’; ‘It doesn’t take a second to say thank you, some people are just so entitled and rude’.

Rylan also later posted a GIF of Jerry Seinfeld saying: ‘Where’s yo manners’. One fan jokingly asked whether he was ‘still stuck in traffic’.

The star’s tweet comes after Rylan left fans baffled after he revealed his ‘real voice’ in an Instagram video last month – and admitted he puts on a different tone for work.

The presenter filmed a quick clip to promote his new digital talk show Air Rylan, which landed in September, to his 2.3 million followers.

However, they were distracted by the fact he sounded ‘deeper’ and  ‘more cockney’ than they’re used to hearing on TV, with some fans even comparing him to TOWIE‘s Mark Wright.

In the clip, Rylan sported a black unbuttoned shirt teamed with a Celine cap, as he explained: ‘So guys, I have been teasing you a little bit, saying that I’ve got something to tell ya and things like that.

‘Well, I can tell you that I have gone and got my own airline. I’m very excited and it’s called Air Rylan.’

He joked: ‘It’s not called RylanAir because of copyright reasons, I’m sure you’re aware people might pipe up.

‘But yeah, it’s something I’ve always wanted. It is landing very, very soon. And I can’t wait to have my first passengers on board, and you’re welcome along for the ride.

‘So keep an eye out and I hope you enjoy flying Air Rylan.’

The TV star’s voice sounded noticeably different to usual, which fans were speedy to point out in the comments.

One fan called Jojo questioned: ‘Errrmmm why is your voice so deep now?,’ to which the presenter admitted: ‘I forgot when filming the vid to put on my work voice. Sorry x.’

The fan responded with: ‘I’m sorry I didn’t mean it nasty, it just sounded strange lol,’ and Rylan replied: ‘I know! I’m being serious forgot to put my Rylan voice on lol’.

Other viewers were in agreement that Rylan’s voice sounded unusual, with some revealing that they actually prefer it, quipping:

‘@rylan your natural voice is lovely!’
