Great British Bake Off saw a dramatic biscuit week after lecturer Jeff was forced to quit due to illness – before two contestants fell to the floor during the showstopper

The bakers took on biscuit week in Tuesday’s episode, first making their own spin on a Viennese whirl in the signature, before tackling mint creams for the technical and creating a theatrical puppet theatre for the showstopper.

It saw Jeff return after suffering illness during cake week – but sadly his condition failed to improve and he was forced to call time on the competition, telling Alison Hammond ‘I’m done’.

The tent was thrown into further chaos when midwife Illiyin collapsed as the showstopper challenge finished and had to be put in the recovery position by medics.

And just minutes later, the bakers were stunned after hearing a huge thud, turning to find retail temp had fallen off his stool and onto the floor.

The tent’s youngest contestant Sunayah, 19, soared to victory in biscuit week as she was named Star Baker.

But it was menswear designer Christiaan who received the coveted handshake for biscuit puppet theatre – which Paul said was ‘one of the best things ever seen on the show’.

Former university lecturer Jeff made a return to the show ahead of the technical after illness saw him forced to sit out of two different challenges in the first episode.

However as his condition failed to improve and he continued to feel ‘woozy’, Jeff was forced to leave the tent as he declared: ‘I’m done.’

Jeff couldn’t complete the last two tasks in the first episode due to unexpected illness.

He returned to the tent for the mint creams technical challenge during biscuit week – but midway through other bakers noticed he still had not started making a dough.

Jeff sipped on tea as he tried to collect himself to feel better for the episode, but eventually had to call it a day as he admitted to feeling ‘woozy’.

He was seen walking out of the tent in his apron with his cuppa still in hand, closely followed by Alison.

‘You tried man, you tried,’ Alison said as she comforted the disappointed baker.

The episode was sent into further chaos as not one but two bakers fell to the floor during the showstopper challenge.

One of the bakers who hit the floor was Illiyin, 31, who made waves by receiving a Hollywood Handshake from Paul in week one.

Time up was declared before the bakers were set to show their showstopper, but she was heard saying: ‘I just feel a bit dizzy.’

As she began to swoon while the showstoppers were being judged, Paul yelled: ‘What the hell is going on?’

‘Are you all right?’ Prue gasped, as Illiyin collapsed to the floor, with medics rushing over.

'Handshakes the first episode, fainting the second,' she said as she was seen being guided away by medics.

They put into the recovery position on the floor as she felt too ‘dizzy’ to be present for the rest of judging.

Host Noel Fielding stepped in to have Illiyin’s showstopper judged while she was recovering

‘For all in tense purposes, I’m Illiyin. God this is horrible. I’ve had nightmares about this.’

Just minutes later, the tent were shocked as they heard a loud bang and turned to find Dylan on the floor.

Scared he had also fainted, the host checked he was ok before Dylan confirmed he had fallen off his chair trying to pick up his water bottle.
