WWE has been doing the whole cinematic thing for years now, most notably in response to the pandemic and the inability to book a normal pro wrestling show (at least by company standards). Of late, though, they’ve ramped up the quality in a major way.
The latest example is the promo you see above, from this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown. The show was pre-taped to give the crew the holidays off ahead of Survivor Series in Vancouver, making for a great opportunity for The Bloodline story to take center stage with another dramatic video explaining an unlikely alliance.
The last time they did this, it was Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes agreeing to put their differences aside for an evening to fend off Solo Sikoa & Jacob Fatu in a tag team match at Bad Blood. It worked out for them.
This time, it’s Reigns and CM Punk coming together for a tense meeting that made clear they’ll work together for a single night but Punk is going to want a favor from Paul Heyman in return. Heyman is just playing coy about what exactly that favor will be.
Even more intrigue.
Strap in, folks, War Games is almost here.
Anyway, here are all the videos from SmackDown this week:
